ELKTON — On Saturday, around 65 people gathered in front of the Cecil County Sheriff’s office to demand Corporal Bryan Shockey’s firing. Cecil Solidarity organized the protest after the release of dashcam footage showing Shockey using what they consider to be excessive force during a traffic stop against Tyreke Collier. “We’re here because we have work to do. And what Sheriff Adams doesn’t understand is that you are an elected official,” said Christine Givens, president of Cecil Solidarity. “You work for us. When you are an elected official, you have a responsibility to adhere to what we’re saying. We have demands, and for weeks now, you’ve ignored us.”
